Our Pricing Philosophy
Custom Care: Every price is tailored to your pet's unique coat condition and behavior.
The Doodle Universe: Poodles and Doodle mixes have special pricing due to the extra cosmic effort their coats require.
Double-Coat Orbit: Heavy shedding and thick undercoats are priced by the amount of work needed to clear the eclipse.
Frequent Flyer Discount: Pets on a regular, consistent grooming schedule enjoy cheaper rates.
Smoother Missions: Keeping a routine schedule makes upkeep easier, meaning shorter visits and a happier pet!
Our Mission Control Schedule
Doodles & Poodles (Every 4–6 Weeks): These cosmic coats mat easily and require regular clips to stay tangle-free.
Double-Coated Breeds (Every 6–8 Weeks): Regular orbits keep heavy shedding under control and remove packed undercoat.
The Routine Reward: Staying within these launch windows keeps upkeep easy, prices lower, and your pet perfectly pampered!

Long-Haired Routine (Every 8–12 Weeks): Don't wait for mats to form; stay on this window to maintain a flawless lion cut.
Bathing & Brushing (Every 4–8 Weeks): Regular baths and blowouts for non-shaved cats prevent painful matting and save the coat from needing a shave.
Nail Maintenance (Every 4–6 Weeks): Crucial regular clips prevent claws from growing inward and causing your cat severe pain.

At The Bark Side of the Moon Grooming, we believe every pet deserves a grooming experience tailored to them — and that includes pricing!
There is no true “one-size-fits-all” when it comes to grooming. Every dog has a different coat, personality, grooming history, and level of maintenance.
Your pet's final price may be a little more or a little less depending on their coat condition, size, behavior, grooming needs, and the amount of time and work their appointment requires. If your pet hasn't been groomed in an extended amount of time, additional work may be needed to get them back to their happy, healthy, fluffy self — and that can affect the price.

Not every pup needs a haircut! Our bath services are perfect for pets who need a good clean-up, freshening, and some TLC without a full haircut.
Our bath appointments include the same essential care:
Shampoo + conditioner • Nail trim & grind • Ear cleaning & plucking when appropriate
🐕 Double-Coated & Long-Haired Breeds
Some coats simply require more time, products, drying, brushing, and detail. Double-coated and long-haired breeds deserve the extra attention — and we want to make sure we have the time to do it right!
Think Golden Retrievers, Huskies, German Shepherds, Newfoundlands, and other thick or long-coated pups.
🐩 Doodles & Poodles
Curly coats have a whole galaxy of their own! 🌙✨
Doodle and Poodle coats can require extra brushing, drying, dematting, scissoring, and styling time. Pricing is based on weight, coat condition, length, and the amount of work needed to achieve your pet's desired groom.
🐈 Cat Grooming
Our feline friends deserve to visit the moon, too! 🌙🐈
Long-Hair Full Service — $180
Includes a lion cut, bath, and nail trim.
Long-Hair Bath — $150
Short-Hair Bath — $125
Cat grooming can vary based on coat condition, temperament, matting, and how much handling your cat comfortably allows. We'll always prioritize your cat's safety and comfort.
🌙 Why Our "Starting At" Price May Look Different
You may see another salon advertising a lower base price and think, "Wow, that's cheaper!"
But be sure to check what's actually included.
At The Bark Side of the Moon, we believe the essentials shouldn't be hidden behind a list of surprise add-ons. Every appointment includes shampoo, conditioner, nail trimming and grinding, and ear cleaning/plucking when appropriate.
🐾 And Yes — De-Shedding Is Included When Needed!
Some salons charge an additional fee for de-shedding or require you to specifically book a de-shedding service.
Here at The Bark Side, you don't have to! 🌙
If your pet has a coat that needs extra brushing or de-shedding, I'll take care of it as part of their grooming service. I'll assess their coat and do what is needed to get out that extra loose undercoat and shedding fur.
However, if your pet has excessive shedding, a very heavy undercoat, or hasn't been groomed in a long time, there may be a small additional charge if the extra time and work required goes beyond what is normally included.
You don't need to book a separate de-shedding appointment. If your pet needs it, I'll do it!
Some salons may advertise a lower base price and then charge separately for services such as de-shedding, nails, ears, or other basic grooming care. By the time everything your pet needs is added on, the final price can be the same — or even more.
We'd rather be upfront from the start. 🌙
We do offer additional add-ons for those extra-special spa days, but we don't believe you should have to nickel-and-dime your way through the basic care your pet needs.
🌕 No surprise moon fees. Just honest grooming.
Your pet's needs come first, and we'll always communicate with you if something requires additional time or cost before moving forward.

The easiest way for us to get you a clearer estimate is to send us a text with your pet's breed, weight, what kind of service you're looking for, and a picture of your pet's coat.
A photo can tell us a lot about coat length, condition, matting, and overall grooming needs before your appointment.
The more we know, the better we can estimate!
At the end of the day, we're not just here to make your pet look good — we're here to give them the best care possible while keeping our pricing fair and transparent.
